Us Magazine reports that Whitney Port may be getting her own Hills spin-off. I don't know how I feel about that. On the one hand, at some point, my idea to save the show was to focus more on Whitney, because she's the one castmember who appears to have an actual, non-bullshit job (besides the obvious "starring in a fakey reality show"). So if MTV built an entire show around Whitney and People's Revolution, I would watch that (and probably pass on the increasingly pointless Hills).
However, the treatment hinted at in the Us article suggests more of the same old, same old, only in the 212 instead of the 213, which sounds tiring and maybe even more irrelevant than The Hills is, because at least The Hills somehow elevates its own irrelevance by both being watched by a lot of people (obvy) and by somehow reflecting Los Angeles in some perfect way that might be sort of meaningful.
