Dear Jenny,
How do you say "What the fuck just happened?" in French? Really. I don't get it at all. It seemed completely arbitrary to uproot the designers in the middle of the runway judging and send them to Paris. Yes, yes -- jetset, free plug for Parsons Paris, etc. It still seemed arbitrary, though. Was there something else going on? Did Heidi need to be in Europe for taping of the German version of Top Model (which I think is called Model uber Alles)? I feel like I spent the entire last quarter of the show mumbling "What am I watching?"
What was not arbitrary was Angela's exit. You know, I actually sort of grew to like Angela. I always hated the fleurchans, but Jeffrey's constant harangues made me sympathetic to the poor dear. That said, I could not handle that culotte outfit in the silk linen or whatever it was. Just completely hideous -- it hurt my feelings. I did enjoy the shot of Kors recoiling from the two ass-button fleurchans, though, especially since Angela was so proud of them.
What else? Michael Knight? Robbed. It helped maybe that he was the only designer who could walk, at all. (Isn't that odd? Remember what good walkers last year's designers were?) That runway was painful. Independent of that, though, Michael's ensemble was great: fresh, innovative and wearable. I get what Jeffrey was going for with his rock star look, but I didn't like the pants at all and Jeffrey's monstrous gloating during the final judging made it very difficult to feel good about his victory. Anyway, for me, the top two were Michael and Laura. I loved her cocktail dress and thought it was very brave of her to pick this week of all weeks to step out of her comfort zone.
