I haven't really been following the search for a replacement for Meredith Vieira, although I think I did hear that Patricia Heaton was a frontrunner at some point. This would have thrown off The View's political balance, however, as Ms Heaton is a Republican. (And a "pro-life feminist"? Do I have that right?) Now it looks like Rosie O'Donnell is going to replace Meredith as Barbara Walters's consigliere. I'm still processing the implications.
