Hi Jenny--
I don't have very much time today, with the J-O-B and class this afternoon, but I do want to start some discussion of last night's thrilling Project Runway finale.
Did the right designer win? What about Daniel's handbags? Necessary? Ugly? I liked the idea of them, especially because I can remember my sister having a similar one when we were kids. I forget what that type of bag is called. Hers was a wooden handle with a muslin lining. You would button on different fabrics to match your outfits. It was a real Preppy Handbook sort of accessory.
My favorite moment from the entire evening was the long pause Heidi allowed herself before referring to Debra Messing as a star. It was "Debra Messing, the . . .star of Will & Grace." Then she practically screamed "Nina Garcia!" and gushed over Michael Kors. Hmm. I think Messing noticed, too. She seemed seriously cowed during the judging.
Gotta go. About to get F-I-R-E-D.
Love,
-- Pete
Handbags. What the heck happened to handbags? When did they all get so ugly? They all look like heavily armored loaves of bread; they're too big to qualify as small bags and too small to actually put anything in them. If the PR gang have better ideas, it would be a public service to get them out there.
I wanted to tell you guys that in the mindless shopping frenzy that was last Christmas, I inadvertently bought one of Jenny's books and didn't even realize it until I saw her site and recognized the cover. My niece and nephew LOVED the book on knitting projects for kids. It's really neat!
