Not much movement in the world of Gay Soap Teens. Maybe it's time to start tuning into Passions?
On ATWT, Luke running over that girl turned out to be a non-issue. There was some yelling and some worry that Luke might have been drinking, but that wrapped itself up by the middle of Friday's episode. The problem is that Luke's been overshadowed by Jade (Elena Goode), the girl he plowed down, as if she were the real victim here. Just when Luke was preparing himself -- again -- to come out to his parents, that bitch came out of her mini-coma and started asking to talk to the family. It's possible something happened with Luke on Monday -- I doubt it, but I fast-forwarded the whole thing because it was pretty boring. There was another woman in a coma and I'm not sure what else. Some cops yelling at each other, maybe?
GH has been a lot more diverting. Yeah, Lucas came out to his father, Tony (Brad Maule), in the middle of the quarantined hospital. It was good. Tony hit all his marks as a forward-thinking, supportive Dad, and Maule is a good enough actor that it didn't seem like Tony was reading from a PFLAG pamphlet. Then everyone got down to the business of dying or not dying, depending upon their contract status. It turns out the chimpanzee is not Patient Zero, but for some reason some shadowy pharmaceutical concern might be trying to get ahold of it. There was a black Escalade spouting bullets, very 24.
Friday's GH featured a promo for the entire ABC Daytime line-up that made One Life to Live and All My Children look very exciting as well. The former is going to have a plane crash, apparently, that looks like fun and on the latter -- well, the clips were coming pretty fast, but it looks like the entire cast is going to be killed in an explosion at a Valentine's Day party. Perfect! The promo ended with GH's Tristan Rogers noting, "A lot of people are going to die." I want to call Brian Frons, the head of ABC Daytime, and suggest that as the new slogan for his division. -- Peter
