Hi Pete --
You're right, it was boring, though it didn't stop me from watching it twice in a row. The challenge was a rich vein, and I just wish they'd gone farther with it. When I was a child I was very fond of makeovers and would often inflict them on my mother, generally going for one of two variants: 1. Bette Davis in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane with pink lipstick; and 2. Bette Davis in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane with orange lipstick. I'm just saying: these people are professionals, and they could have raised the bar.
1. Agreed: Rasputino's makeover was far and away the best, though I sort of enjoyed Daniel V as Richard Gere in Breathless. And oh, Peter, if you'd let me, I'd make you goth.
2. I know! So sad! We didn't mean it! Come back!
3 & 4. I don't want to say it, but I can't stop myself: Heidi had me at auf wiedersehn. Who can resist her Teutonic charms?
PS: I have to admit: I sort of liked the jumpsuit. I'm all for one-piece dressing. There's no question, however, that your mother is the better seamstress. As for your own: are you talking about the Snug Sack? Which all the cousins got? And which I love, although, yes, it does sort of incubate odors. As I recall you once informed me that it smelled like I was fermenting kim chee in there. Other than that, though, it's really wearable.
The answer I was looking for was "Linda Evangelista."
